NEW YORK — The New Orleans Saints have agreed to sign cornerback Vittorio Belotti to a contract, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed.

The contract will be for four years with an option for a fifth year.

Belotti, 26, has been on the market for a few weeks, but has yet to make a final decision.

He had played in just three games with the Saints last season, but was on the active roster for the final two games.

He missed the first two games last season with a hamstring injury and missed the last four games with a hip injury.

The Saints acquired Belotti from the Carolina Panthers in a trade for a third-round pick in April and waived him.

He was released by Carolina in July and signed with the Panthers the following summer.

The 5-foot-10, 193-pound Belotti has played in nine career games with six starts.

He has a career-high four interceptions.

Belzi is the first member of the Saints’ defense to sign a contract with the team.
